Excerpts from 25newsnow.com:
Two Illinois State Police Troopers suffered minor injuries early Saturday morning while rescuing a driver from a fiery crash on Cedar Street in East Peoria.
Assistant Fire Chief Ronnie Marmitt says the vehicle was heading east on Cedar Street when it drove through the construction zone where there was no pavement, and hit the guardrail.
The East Peoria Fire Department quickly put out the fire. The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Excerpts from rblandmark.com:
At its April 18 meeting, the Riverside Village Board approved the refurbishment of a ladder truck, a move that will allow another decade of service while saving at least $700,000 compared to buying a new truck.
The truck, which was manufactured in 2001, is due to be refurbished or retired because of its age. The work had originally been planned for next year, but it was involved in an accident at Station #2 and was sent to Seagrave where they were able to inspect the vehicle and identify it as an excellent candidate for refurbishment.
The work will cost the village about $383,000, although trustees approved allocating $400,000 to cover contingencies.
In comparison, a new truck from Seagrave, which is included in the village’s planned budget for 2027, would cost about $1.75 million today. Another manufacturer’s price is between $1.1 million and $2 million.
thanks Rob
