This fro Chi-Town Fire Photos:
I was right around the corner for this one. Battalion 14 reported smoke showing in the rear of a 1 sty occupied house @ 1635 s Trumbull. It appeared the fire started at the electric meter from a bad hook up on the rear of the house on the back porch. Engine 109 (2nd engine) took the alley and lead out a pre connect line to the rear. Lot of labor to get it all opened up to extinguish the fire. Companies had it all out and under control in about 20 minutes. Here are some shots I took. The rest of the photos are up on our website. Also, found some shell casings in the alley right behind the house, left over from New Years Eve!

Just curious. Who disconnects power from ComEd before the meter socket gets hit with the wet stuff? What is the procedure for verifying power is out before going to work?
