Slow Down and Move Over when approaching stopped emergency vehicles. Our Posen Engine 2805 was struck by a vehicle during the overnight hours on I-57 last night (3/30/19). This is the 2nd Fire Engine struck on I-57 in the past 2 weeks in addition to the 2 fatalities involving State Troopers on Chicago Area Expressways. Our firefighters are safe, Thank God, however the offender was injured and transported to the hospital. To all our brothers and sisters out there….be alert and safe!** Please everyone… we appreciate the concern most people have shown however we will delete any negative comments or theorizing what occurred. It’s a public safety message to yield to emergency vehicles… period…

Tim,
With that being the case, this engine will likely need a new Tak 4 and a cab. Probably $100k or more in repairs.

The rig is actually in pretty bad shape. Busted tie rod, the front supension has been shifted. The pump intake is busted, the floor of the cab is buckled. the body has some damage too. i would expect there is frame damage too. But yes, as long as the members are uninjured that’s the important part.

thankfully the rig is not too bad and the ff were not hurt so that is a huge plus the law needs to be stricter
