Video is shot vertically by mobile devices and usually consumed by mobile devices in vertical format.
Landscape-only TV, desktop and laptop screens are the past. Mobile is the future. Complaining that times are changing doesn’t stop the changes.

You have a point, but vertical only works on a phone though it’s viewed and shared in so many other formats that are horizontal. It loses so much of what was there originally. Horizontal also works on mobile devices which would show a broader view of the subject matter. It would then show well in all formats and devices.
