Photos from Steve Redick of the 5-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 11-5-16
Saturday early am at 26th & Kostner. Large vacant industrial building well involved on arrival. Several collapses occurred early in the incident. Access was good with large vacant lots on 2 sides of the complex. Several tower ladders and master streams were used. Most of the building was down by the time I arrived, the uninvolved section later burned in spectacular fashion a few hours after I “picked up”. There was no indication at the time I left that the fire had invaded that area. All the images and video can be seen here

Chris, this is a 1982 Seagrave, currently a reserve piece (for quite some time), but as you see on the photos, they still use it on most big fires. I guess some guys here can provide a few more details on it’s previous assignments in the CFD.

It is a reserve, it has been for years, maybe decades. They have to special call it, it’s really only used at extra alarm fires to provide another elevated master stream

Wow! Beautiful snorkel truck. Does anyone know if this is running reserve or frontline?
