This from Brad Steinweg:
Pictures from the Heights’ house fire @ 1446 East End AV on 8/1. I saw a small header while on the way but it was pretty much knocked and only a little bit of smoke still showing.

Station 1 is a POC only station. It’s home to an engine and support unit. It’s not always toned out for fires. Typically the on duty crews handle building fires without calling for station 1.
Full time members staff stations 2, 3, 4, & 5. Their minimum staffing every day is 17. Each station has an engine and ambulance. Stations 2 & 3 have trucks (a tower at 3, straight stick at 2) and there used to be a light duty squad. Idk if it’s still in use. Station 4 covers the village of Olympia Fields as well as the west side of Chicago Heights. They also provide coverage for what was once the Olympia Gardens FPD.
Yes the current mayor is looking to cut their minimum staffing, idk to what and also it sounds like cutting or even out sourcing the 911 center.

Not 100% sure. They had a good turnout at this fire so I assume all 5 stations are staffed. They also have POC’s for incidents such as this but I have not heard about cutting manpower, but given the financial situation they’re in I wouldn’t be surprised.

Isn’t the village trying to reduce staffing here?
