Fred the reason for making Ambulance 8 a part time unit was for budgetary reasons of course however I wonder why they didn’t make Ambulance 7 as the part time unit instead as Ambulance 7 is located closer to Ambulance 6 and I would figure that they would rather spread out the ambulances at night to better cover the village. Of course it could be that perhaps they were getting more ems emergencies in Ambulance 7’s area but never the less it would make sense to spread them out more since Ambulance 8 is a further distance from Ambulance 6 then Ambulance 7 is.

Thanks Bill, & ‘the man.’ Yeah that all makes sense: A6–> A8. Kind of wild that overnight, only 2 manned ambulances in a community as populated as Glenview..

Current A6 will go to A8. It is a workhorse with already a lot of miles on it.
A8 is still 12 hours 7a-7p.
All Ambulances will have the Stryker Power Load system once the change over happens.

While I’m not 100% sure if Ambulance 6’s current rig is going to Ambulance 8 (most likely it is) I wonder if Ambulance 8 was restored to being a 24 hour unit yet?
For the last few years Ambulance 8 had become a part time unit which had only been in service from 7am to 7pm and would be taken out of service at night.

Another beautiful Glenview rig…but they just got a new ambulance 6, only 2 years ago! Already a new one?? Ambulance 7 just got a new one last year too. Is the 2-year old ambulance 6 sliding over to be the new ambulance 8? Since the current ambo 8 is a 2007, I believe. That’s my only guess. Anybody know?
