Great to see it is (or was) still in service. I remember seeing these monsters around Shorewood. At the time, this rig’s sister was 2211 – identical, but a 1982 model. The idea behind them was no matter where you were in the district, you had a rig capable of functioning either as an engine or a tender. This particular rig was in service until 1998, when the current 2212 (1250/2000) was purchased. The ’98 has been in reserve status at station 1 for the past five years.
