Yes, that’s exactly what I mean. Glenview is under contract. These two drawings are the first drawings, sent to look over and take notes for changes to both apparatus at the pre-construction meeting. The final drawings won’t be out until later this year after that pre-construction meeting. Those drawings will be more indicative as to what Glenview has ordered and what they will look like. Both these apparatus already have a list of changes.

i think he means that they are under contract but the dealer was premature in announcing it as the final details aren’t concrete

Please help me understand this comment, “ Nothing is set in stone except they’ll be from Pierce. This post was a little premature.” If this is all premature, how can you say that they will be from Pierce??!! Did the bidding process already take place without final drawings? Seamus, please clarify?

These are THE very first drawings. Preliminary drawings. The pumpers body is not accurate. Both drawings are getting changes and still have to go through a pre-construction meeting later this year. Nothing is set in stone except they’ll be from Pierce. This post was a little premature.

The Pierce heavy duty steel and aluminum ladders have proven to be pretty decent ladders. The steel towers are biodegradable junk. In the case of Glenview’s new ladder, I’m not sure why they opted for the Ascendant which certainly hasn’t started off on a positive note. The downside of all Pierce aerials is the biodegradable torque boxes.

Bottom line this will still be an Ascendant aerial. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.

I wonder why Glenview opted for the PUC on the ladder but not the engine. I figured they would want to keep things consistent.

the current truck is a 2013 which is 9 years and depending on how long it takes to built the new truck because some depts are waiting and waiting while others have started a few months ago and they are nearly done time will tell so will northfield share the 13 or just keep the 2002

I am guessing this will replace Engine 6 since Engine 7 and 8 have been replaced in the last few years. I am not surprised about the Truck they replaced the last truck after 10 years.
