Deerfield-Bannockbun firefighters were called to the Tri-State Tollway this afternoon (3/3/16) for a crash at the 23.5 mm southbound. Units arrived to find a tractor-trailer that had rolled over after colliding with a car. The truck and an SUV were in flames against the center median. Lincolnshire-Riverwoods responded to assist as well as Crash Truck 39 from Prospect Heights.

i was the passenger in the semi my husband the driver I want to thank all those who risk their own life to save us and all those who helped In any way I will always remember you and keep you in my heart and prayers and I will never forget the two who lost thier lives my father and son team my dogs Booggie (Boudreaux ) and Bogie (Bogart) his son I will miss you for ever you will always be in our hearts

That was quite an accident and they were lucky to have no fatalities or life threatening injuries. An off duty Chicago firefighter (Pat Fahrenbach) who is normally assigned to Engine 117 and Tower Ladder 14’s house at 4900 W Chicago avenue was on the scene and helped rescue some of the victims along with civilian Tom Hoover and several other civilians who were on the scene.
