Evanston struck a 2nd alarm on Sunday for a fire at North Shore Towing that involved junk cars and tires. Tim Olk was at the scene and submitted several images.
Due to all the grease, oil, and other fluids, everyone needs new gear and the hose was left there

Great pictures Olkie, even better ones on your site! (Except for the one of the Truck 29 driver flippin the bird, stay classy Northfield!)

I certainly don’t want to go into a fire with my gear covered in something flammable. I’ve had a glove catch fire before because it had gasoline on it, not fun. Generally this cost will be covered by the spiller of the material so hopefully Evanston and other responding departments won’t be on the hook for any of the money.

Wow are they seriously going to have to buy new turnouts for some of the guys there?
