We have additional information that the 4th new Spartan/Crimson 103′ aerial will be assigned to Truck 56. We have images of two of the new trucks without company numbers applied – these are E337 & E338, both of which are designated as ALS companies.

Truck 40 would actually be a candidate for one of the new trucks as they were recently given ALS status and the current rig (a 2000 E-One) that they are using does not have a specifically built ALS compartment. When Truck 45 became ALS over a year ago, Truck 40’s 2002 Pierce (which does have an ALS compartment) was exchanged for Truck 45’s old rig. It turns out that the Pierce trucks were the first trucks that were equipped with the ALS (medication) compartment and the 2000 E-Ones were not so equipped.
Truck’s 59, 61, and 62 in addition to Truck 56 are also more likely to receive ALS status as none of the engine companies that are located with them have ALS status as of yet.

I think you’re right about the label from the factory because I have seen engines labeled as ALS and even though they were not. Also, anyone know why the officer side lightbar no longer has green light on outside as on older units?

I like the photographs of the latest new Spartan/Crimson trucks, however I do have a question. Were the photos taken at Spartan Crimson plant in South Dakota or were they taken in Chicago? The reason why I ask that question is that I have a hunch that the “Paramedic Equipped Truck” label may have been automatically applied at the plant in South Dakota, because as of now, none of the first four trucks that are supposed to be getting the new rigs are designated as ALS companies.
Trucks 51,31, and 9 are all located with ALS Engine companies, however since no company at Engine 89 and Truck 56’s station are designated as ALS companies (as of yet) then perhaps Truck 56 may receive the ALS designation over the next year?.
