Bedford Park Fire Department news and history

From the Bedford Park FD Facebook page:

The year was 1960 and we were about to start a part of our history that would last for the next 63yrs! We were the first fire department to take delivery of a new type of truck, the Snorkel. We would have a few throughout the years that served, not only the residents of Bedford Park, but also surrounding departments! Earlier this week Truck “Snorkel” 705 was decommissioned and is currently making her long trek, roughly 5,000+ miles, to the country of Ukraine! There, Truck 705, will begin a new mission that is much bigger than us! We hope you take care of the citizens of Ukraine as you have for us over the last 63yrs! Thank you for the memories…; #BedfordParkFD; #Snorkel; #SaralynWagers;

Commercial fire in McCook, 1-26-19

This from Eric Haak:

The McCook Fire Department had a fire come in about 4:00 am Saturday (1/26) morning at 5300 Lawndale Avenue. The building was a 100×100 semi repair shop. The area has very limited access as well as available hydrants. Temperatures were about -2 degrees making conditions even more difficult.
