As mentioned in a previous post, the Guardians of the Ribbon, Northern Illinois Chapter, made a trip on Sunday to escort a young cancer patient to a local restaurant where a fund raiser was being held on her behalf.
Larry Shapiro went to Wauconda to photograph Lily’s arrival at Lindy’s Landing where upwards of 50 people were there to greet her.

Neat story, thanks for sharing.
This Summer the National Pink Heals Tour will be making several stops in Northern Illinois over the course of four days. I’m proud to say that the Aurora Regional Fire Museum will be proudly hosting them on Saturday, Aug. 25th. As a side note, Debby Davis, the fire museum’s Executive Director, is currently battling breast cancer.

David,
Very sorry to hear of Debby’s diagnosis. It’s terrible that we can do nothing to stop this invasive disease. Our thoughts and prayers are with her.
