Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, and Prospect Heights firefighters were dispatched for an oven fire at 485 W. Green Drive late Tuesday night, 9-23-25. It was unclear from the initial report whether or not the fire was contained to the oven of the one-story, single-family house. The first unit to arrive was Service Truck 24 with two personnel. They reported a fire and were advancing a line. The battalion chief had flames blowing out a side window and upgraded the response to a working fire plus additional ambulances because the whereabouts of the residents was not initially clear.

The flames were knocked down in short order while Buffalo Grove and Prospect Heights firefighters vented the roof. Mutual aid companies came from Northbrook, Glenview, Mt Prospect, Des Plaines, and Arlington Heights.

On August 10th, the Gary Fire Department was sent back to the scene of a structure fire they had in the early morning hours to find the structure had communicated to a pallet yard. These are a few images from the defensive portion of the incident. It was a 4th alarm and was eventually brought under control with the use of three aerial master streams and several hand lines
