I ‘ve seen some pictures of slides in fire stations. Obviously safer and you would think that it wasn’t thought of decades ago.

Was at a firehouse in Easton, PA They had a slide and they had to stop using it. Too many guys would forget to put their feet down and they’d land on and break their tailbone.

Bridgeview Station 1 utilizes 2 fire poles on a daily basis. We have only had 1 injury in the 51-year old station which was due to horseplay. Proper training for sliding technique and floor pads changed on regular basis will prevent ankle injuries.
