From the Pierce Facebook page:
The Palatine Fire Department has designed an #Enforcer 100’ #AerialPlatform without a pump to maximize compartment space. Extrication, dive, EMS, and rescue task force equipment will be stored in the compartments. Due to its size, it will also serve as a barricade for freeway responses. Across 13 square miles in #PalatineIL, this department services an average of 9,000 calls a year for a population of 70,000 people.Overall Height: 12’Overall Length: 46’ 9.25”Job Number: 38069

I hate using aerial/tower ladders for traffic blocking on highways. My dept. does it for responses on the 290, and I hate using our tower for that. One hit and it could be gone for months or forever. I would much rather use one of our old reserve engines for that.

So what will happen to the Spartan? Sold or spare?

That does look sharp and traditional. Who says you always have to have chrome wheels to look good?

Do they have plans to replace the Squad which in effect runs as the 2nd piece to the Tower Ladder..
It is interested how the Tower Ladder runs in the Center of Town (which makes sense) and the 4 Engine companies run near the 4 corners of the Town , the only thing is that since the Tower Ladder runs with no booster tank or pump if they have a rubbish or a “prarie fire” they need to send an Engine company from one of the 4 outlying stations.

This is a sharp no nonsense rig! Any idea when the engine will be built?
