This from Chicagoland Fire Photos:
The Englewood Fire Alarm Office gave the 21st Battalion a working fire at 9845 s Hoyne Ave while companies were still responding. Engine 121 and Truck 40 arrived on scene and confirmed the working fire in a 1-1/2 story, 20×50 Chicago Bungalow and also declaring it vacant. Engine 121 pulled 2 lines, Truck 40 put their aerial to the roof and preformed vertical ventilation. Squad 5 was held before arrival. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries.
Side note-after 4-6-8’s arrival they called for 4-6-19 the State Fire Marshal’s Office Canine Unit.

Mike I don’t think that they send a truck over to over automatically anymore i think they only send a company over if 92 and 45 are out.

Combining engine 75/Amb. 5 and 115/et al into one firehouse was not a smart idea in my opinion. (Neither was turning tower 34 back into a straight stick. If anything, they should have made truck 24 the 11th tower ladder.)

In the old days Truck 59 would have changed to Truck 45. Does anyone know if they no longer make an automatic change to Truck 45 now that Tower Ladder 24 is further south? (But still quite a distance away) If they changed for this fire, it had to have been a truck from a long ways off. Truck 41 or Truck 42 perhaps?
I’m thinking the office would have left Truck 50 in quarters.
Thanks in advance

Ambo 29 is in 121s house, with Ambo 79 so they were probably busy at the time.

Yup, and 29 would’ve been second ambo.

In the “old days” Truck 24 would’ve been second up.
