I recently saw a comment about South Chicago Heights FD getting a used engine from Mundelein, Illinois. Not sure if that replaced the ALF or its an additional engine.

I believe they have to dispose of it and it cannot be used for any fire service organization as part of the Grant requirements, be watching for it for sure!!

Grand old classic that will hopefully end up in loving hands.
You can still distinguish the various builders and their respective models but sometimes you need more than a quick glance.

The ALF was extensively rehabbed when the ALF Service Center was out Chicago Heights way. It has been well cared for and has been the reserve engine for some time now.

That should tell the testament of the older ALF rigs. They run forever.

Glad they will be getting a new engine! Surprised the ALF lasted 50 years!
