Excerpts from wandtv.com:
The Decatur Fire Department is down a ladder truck after someone crashed into the rig over the weekend. Truck 1 was headed west on Grand Avenue early Sunday morning when a car traveling on Monroe Street crashed into the rear of the passenger side.
The department has four ladder trucks, but only one is in service, and it is also damaged after a woman turned in front of it back in January. The loss of a ladder truck comes at a busy time for the department. Last year by this date, the department had responded to 100 fires. As of Monday, they’ve responded to 155.
The crash caused the department to rearrange rigs. Truck 3, which was housed at Station 2, has moved to Station 1 and now Truck 2 is working out of a reserve engine. This loss of a ladder truck is detrimental to the city.

Is this the 2011 Pierce tower ladder that was hit?

Two of them have been hit on calls. Not sure why the other is oos. Decatur is in bad shape. The new city manager and mayor want to close station one. The busiest firehouse in the city. They think the outlying stations can cover. Well, if you know the layout of Decatur, that’s not gonna work so well. Dfd is down 11 positions bc the city manager hates pensions. So……he won’t allow them to hire. What a joke.

I wonder if it is because all their trucks are Pierce and have rust issues?
