This from Dan McInerney:
Here are pics and a drawing of our in-progress 2020 Pierce Enforcer engine. It will have a 1500-GPM pump, 500-gallon tank, and is expected to be delivered in the 6 weeks. We will be ordering a second apparatus that will be very close if not identical in the spring, and hopefully a third in early 2021. so# 33969

The compartments behind the cab doors are for firefighter gear/tool storage, along with P-cans stairchair, RIT pack, etc. Tried to implement parts of the clean cab concept to get some of that stuff out of the crew area.
Currently staffing as the previous comment laid out. The truck should be back by the end of the month.

From what I know is when staffing permits they put a 3rd ambulance in service and they’re working on making this a permanent company. The 3rd engine when it comes will be front line and this one being the oldest will become the spare. The tower is currently out of service due to an accident and is being repaired right now so they’re running the spare engine in its place.

From what I know, Oak Park just placed a third ambulance in service sometime in 2019. So that makes 3 full time ambo’s 24/7. As for the engines. Two are staffed 24/7. Both are 2010 HME’s. Their spare engine (E601) is a 1998 HME. Oak Park’s plan is to get a new engine each year for the next 3 years for a total of 3 new engines. Meaning, both front lines will be brand new with the third coming down the line in 2022, so OPFD can have a reliable dedicated spare engine that they can rotate around to spread the wear and tear. The tower is always staffed at the center house. As of now, E601 is running in its place due to it being involved in a crash a few months ago.

Their website says two ALS engines and two ALS ambulances but I know they got a new tower in the last couple years

Ditto Chuck’s comment about three engines. Is the tower ladder gone forever?

I know when I was there in 2013 or 14 all 3 ambulances were at station 1 maybe it has changed now I try not to go to oak park I like river forest better so are they getting rid of the old hme first and then the other two later

Why would they be ordering three engines when there are only two shown here on the station roster – was one missing by mistake at Station 1, or are they changing something?

Oak Park Daily staffing I believe is
Station 1
Battalion 620 (1 man)
Tower 631 (3 men)
Ambulance 612 (2 men)
Ambulance 613 (2 men)
Station 2
Engine 602 (3 men)
Station 3
Engine 603 (3 men)
Ambulance 611 (2 men)

What is Oak Park’s staffing now? How many engines, trucks, ambulances and battalions staffed on a daily basis? I thought they had three houses. Is there an ambulance in each house?

Very nice laid out design. How an engine co. should be…simple and functional along with a low hose bed. Well done! Dan what are the large compartments on the cab behind the crew doors going to be used for?
