The engine is a 1989 Pierce Arrow pumper and as Bill Post stated, it is the first engine Lincolnwood ran when the FD was stood up 1/1/1990. I had the pleasure of working on the specification for this engine long before the stand-up date of 1/1. We began that work nearly a year earlier. On 12/1/1989 the original 28 members worked days for the month of December packing hose, labeling equipment, and drilling on the rigs, hose loads and new equipment. In celebration of its 25th anniversary nearly five years ago, this engine was refurbed in house by LFD Deputy Chief Ray White, one of the original 28 members. I am told it is prefered by many over the newer engine.

It looks like they refurbished the old 15

I wonder whats wrong with their regular rig. That engine is the spare rig and you’re right Harry that is Lincolnwood’s original Engine 15 so it would be close to 31 years old. Lincolnwood is now using their 3rd engine since they formed around 1989/90. So the question is, what happened to the 1999 Pierce Saber as that is what you would figure to be the reserve?
