This from Wayne Stuart for #TBT:
The Gary Fire Department operated three 1986 Mack MC686FC / 3D Metals pumpers. They were originally assigned to Engine Companies 1, 4, and 9. These had 1500-GPM pumps and 500-gallon tanks. They carried serial #’s 1206, 1207, and 1208 respectively. As with most Gary apparatus, they served in many different companies during their career.

Thank you, Wayne for posting these pictures these were the engines that the Fire Department got when I was a rookie firefighter. We changed over from a Ford E-One to this rig assigned to Engine 9. The next Engine 9 was a 1990 Pierce Arrow 2000 g.p.m/ 500 gallon tank. Look forward to seeing more of the G.F.D. on Throwback Thursday!
