Chicago Fire Department news

Excerpts from the ChicagoSunTimes.com:

A Chicago Fire Department paramedic has been placed on paid administrative leave amid complaints that he masturbated repeatedly in and around a South Side firehouse in full view of co-workers.

The allegations about the vulgar and offensive behavior on fire department apparatus and in other locations in and around the firehouse have been swirling for more than a year. The paramedic remained on the job without consequence and the pattern of behavior allegedly continued, to the disgust of co-workers.

The #MeToo tidal wave has prompted the city council to strengthen the city’s sexual harassment ordinance four times.

Vintage recording of 2-11 Alarm fire, 11-12-90

More from Steve Redick:

Some more classic CFD radio. Warren Jonas was the call taker and yours truly gave out the still on the amplifier. Joe Pavlik was on the radio in the office. I think the 7th battalion was Mike Hughes. The fire was a 2-11 at 3607 Fullerton 11/12/90. Nothing unusual about this but just a good old typical extra alarm.

As seen around … the Quinn Fire Academy

This from Mike Lopina:

While on a mission to introduce my youngest son to the tastes of Manny’s Deli, we took a ride past the academy to see what was there. Not sure what’s going on with E116 having their front suction line off. Are they getting a new rig? E104 and E126 new rigs are in!
