A neighbor reported light smoke coming from a home just before noon. First company on scene reported heavy smoke, and found fire on the second floor. Battalion 26 requested a MABAS alarm to the box level. The fire was held to the second floor. No one was home at the time of the fire.

Waukegan also has the 4 digit system on the side of their rigs. All of Quad 1 still uses the 4 digit system.
Zion-18’s
Winthrop Harbor-17’s
Waukegan 16’s
Great Lakes Naval 19’s
Beach Park 12’s
Newport 14’s
Gurnee 13’s

the 4 digit numbers are the Lake County MABAS numbering system, 1st number is the quad(1-4) then the department number, the last 2 are vehicle classification number. several departments went to a 3 number designation, quad/department/station preceded by engine or truck . North chicago , Gurnee and Newport still use the 4 digit numbers, Knollwood uses a 2 number and Waukegan is 1-5. confused yet?

Fox Lake is part of the Quad numbering system so anything at Station 2 is 222, Station 3 is 223 and Station 4 is 224.
The 52 on the Squad is their fleet number so that rig is 2252. The new Engine has a 24 on the side and it’s 2224 and the new Tanker is 2262.

Yes, that is Ex Gurnee Engine 1311, it’s a 1995 E-One Cyclone 1500/750/30 with a 7,500 watt diesel generator and a built in electric Hurst power unit with dual 100′ reels.
