Morton Fire Department News

From the Morton Fire Department Facebook page:

We are sad to report that Morton Firefighter Josh Greene was killed in a non-duty related vehicle crash late last night in Morton. Josh was the passenger in a car that struck another vehicle parked along the roadway.

FF Greene joined the Morton Fire Department in March of 2000 where he served as a paid-on-call member. Josh was known to all of us as friendly, always smiling and involved in our department in many ways. Our hearts go out to Josh’s wife, children and his entire family. He will be missed amongst our Morton Fire Department family as well. Funeral arrangements are pending.

The support from our community and from fellow first responders following the loss of FF Josh Greene has been tremendous and is very much appreciated by all of us here at the Morton Fire Department. We would like to invite all uniformed first responders to join us for a walk-through during the visitation at 7:00 PM on Thursday January 18th. Specific directions are listed below. This will be the only part of the services in which participation of first responders from outside departments is being officially organized. There will not be an emergency vehicle procession following the funeral involving outside departments. Thank you everyone for all of your support.
