9/14/17 BLACKBERRY TWP – Elburn FPD Vehicle Crash w/ Entrapment Bliss Rd. and Seavey Rd.
DETAILS: Three people were injured in a three car crash at Bliss Rd. and Seavey Rd. around 7:45 a.m. including a Plano woman and two Batavia High School students. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old Batavia girl was driving west on Seavey Rd. when she failed to stop at the stop sign at Bliss Rd. Her vehicle then side-impacted a vehicle traveling northbound on Bliss Rd. A vehicle being driven southbound on Bliss Rd. by an Elburn man was also involved. The two vehicles involved in the initial crash went off the roadway, one striking a utility pole and the other coming to rest against a wooden fence. The woman driving that vehicle required extrication by Elburn FPD in order to free her. There was decreased visibility conditions at the time of the crash due to fog. The pole that was snapped off brought down an AT&T fiber optic cable. Batavia and Sugar Grove fire departments assisted Elburn with transporting the patients, none of which had life-threatening injuries according to the KCSO.
