Oh I’ve been there many times. Yes there is enough eye candy on there to keep one out of mischief for a short time anyway.

Big Moe, that’s the question I had. Is that a 2017 rehab, or a1996 with a paint job?
Joe the 1972 Ford C-800 in yellow stood out, too. Won a lot of parade trophies with it.
Crabby have you ever tried the links here or indianafiretrucks.com? A rainbow of apparatus colors. One of my favorites is Madison, in Jefferson County, IN. 6 separate firecompanies with 6 different color schemes protect the town.

If it’s that single barrel in that tank, I say we take up a collection and charter a bus and go down there and have some. 🙂

Thanks for the links Crabby, love the Jack Daniels rig. Gotta wonder if that is Black Label, Single Barrel or Gentleman Jack in the water tank. Break out the shot glasses

The JACK DANIELS distillery rigs are white over black with gold stripes.

The Milwaukee County suburb of West Allis bought this 2016 SEAGRAVE with white over red. I asked one of them if they thought about black over red and was told that they wanted to stand out since Wauwatosa’s rigs are now black over red. Either way it’s am improvement since West Allis rigs used to be yellow until about the early 1990’s.

Denver, CO. and New Haven CT. have had solid white rigs forever.

I did love the old paint scheme but the new is also very nice cant wait to see the updated paint
#7 by harry on September 11, 2017 - 11:38 PM
in my opinion the black over red is nice all red is nice for boston but I would some of my favoites I have seen in my travels are not in order but are
palm beach gardens fl super bright green
Miami dade fl silver over flourscent green
stuart fl black over fluorescent green
mount horeb wi jet black
thorton il green quint
coal city il hunter orange
tarrytown ny silver over light blue
but the point is tradional color rigs to me are not as exiting as an unusual one

Loved the green color and wished they had painted all the other rigs to match this one. That being said, it still looks sharp and will operate for years with pride and saving money for the Village over a new rig. Need a stream in an alley or other tight spot? Now you know who to call down south.

Just my opinion, but I personally don’t like either color scheme. The “old and routine” black over red is an awesome paint scheme that always looks good on a fire rig
#10 by Joe on September 11, 2017 - 2:28 PM
The truck always had a saying in the front “it’t not easy being green”
It made Thornton stand out to have a green fire truck
Now they are uniform just like the rest, no diversity

I’ll miss that “Green Machine” haha I am a fan of the new color scheme, not the same old routine black over red that a majority of the Chicago burbs seem to be trending to

Looks good either way. People sometimes don’t believe me when I tell them that there are fire apparatus out there in pretty much every color you can imagine.
