There were a few there. There was one on the west side of Asbury (vacant lot resulted) around spring of 89 or 90. Big 2.5sty frame well involved on arrival. Arson fire if I remember correctly.

Mike L, it must have been a MABAS Box Alarm or 2nd alarm – I’d have to check my records but I think it was a house on the west side of Asbury

Larry- The pic of it as Snorkel 28 (bottom photo) is at Green Bay and Foster in Evanston. Were they at a fire and do you have pics of the fire?

Googled Liberty Hose Fire Company in Stockertown, PA and they were disbanded in 2006 due to financial problems. Multiple entries on the web about this. This picture must be dated and the truck is probably out there somewhere.

Pete:
The ex Wilmette snorkel is still proudly serving at the Evergreen Park Fire Department as SS3.

Would anybody know of a single axle snorkel that is available to be put in service. We are a small rural, all volunteer dept. looking for a 55′ snorkel. Any help would be appreciated

Kevin, thanks for replying, we have looked at that snorkel. It was priced at $65,000.00 and has damage to it with an estimate of $12,000.00 to repair. Our ideal rig would be on a Ford cab-over chassis, but we are open to anything, even a Mack Aerialscope as long it is single axle and a automatic transmission. Tandem axle rigs will not work due to our station configuration and fire district layout. Thanks and keep your eyes open, Chief 202

I believe this was an ex. Wilmette rig not Winnetka.
