This from Wayne Stuart:
Gary, Indiana ran this 1942 American LaFrance 750 GPM/130-GWT, serial # L-1799, model B-575CO from 1948 till the early 70’s. Originally built in 1942 for the U.S. Army Quarter Master Corp, it was assigned to the Illiopolis Ordinance Plant in Illiopolis, Illinois. On 3/23/48 the Gary Fire Department purchased the pumper from military surplus. It ran first as Eng.2 then as Eng 5. In later years it was used as a spare rig, as seen in the photo running as Eng 12. It was disposed of in the early 70’s.From the collection of Wayne Stuart

Beautiful gem there. We don’t get to see many pre 700 series ALF’s at musters so thanks to the internet, that makes it possible. Thanks.
