Those are nice shots of the Engine 99’s house and the rigs that are currently assigned to it. It’s a nice small neighborhood station with an interesting history. For example well before Ambulance 67 and the previous BLS ambulance 86 was put in service there in June 2000 , Ambulance 23 was originally put in service there on April 1 1963 which was the same day that Ambulances 22 and 24 were put in service with Chicago’s famous black over red Cadillac Ambulances. Ambulance 23 wasn’t relocated to Engine 113’s station until December 1st 1981 when it was already an ALS modular Van Style Ambulance. Another interesting fact about Engine 99’s house is that they were closed for a year and a half from June 12 1976 until December 22 1977, after there was a fire in the Engine 99’s quarters while they were at an extra alarm fire elsewhere. For that period of time Engine 99 was temporarily located to Engine 109’s quarters and Ambulance 23 was located at Engine 34’s current quarters. Ambulance 21 wasn’t put in service at Engine 34’s house until during 1979.
