This from Larry Shapiro:
Cicero had a fire in a three-story, brick, residential unit in the 5000 block of 30th Street that also apparently had living space in the attic. Somewhere around 1:30Am, companies arrived to find heavy fire out the second-floor rear, with flames extending to the third floor and the attic space. They had reports that all but one resident were accounted for, though it was not known if the unaccounted for resident had been home.
After an interior attack, companies were pulled out of the building as fire vented through the roof. A defensive attack was initiated which included a master stream from Cicero Truck 1. The alarm was upgraded to a Box Alarm for additional companies around 2AM.
Primary and secondary searches had been completed on the first three floors, but they were unable to search the attic until the bulk of the fire had been knocked down. A victim was later discovered in the attic space.
