I suppose you were there and can tell us exactly why the hi-ex foam was such a bad idea?
Some basements are unfinished, which leave the structural members exposed. If they were burned through, I sure wouldn’t want to be underneath them doing work. Some basements also only have one good way in (the stairs). If they were burned through, I sure wouldn’t want to go down them and do work.
So tell me again Chuck, why was using hi-ex foam such a bad idea?

High expansion foam? For a residential fire? This doesn’t say a lot for the incident commander’s trust in his firefighters’ ability to put out a structure fire. If I were the homeowner, I would have been screaming bloody murder over this. Not to mention the poor job of overhauling that led to the rekindle in the first place.
