I am retired from Cicero FD and back in the 70’s alot of changes took place. Old timers from the 50’s were still on the job, and boy they were the real deal. Learned alot from them. We had just a couple of airpacks and ate alot of smoke. 4 Engines, 2 trucks, 2 ambo’s. The squad was not around very long. I have more info if interested.

The Western Electric American LaFrance 800 series is under an awning at the Junk Yard at Rt83 and Grant, Lemont, it sits right at the northwest corner of the intersection between the Cal-sag channel bridge, and the sanitary and ship canal bridge..you can’t see it from Rt 83, so you have to get down into the junk yard to find it, it all intact with the V-12 engine it all there including the dust it covered in
