5-1-1 & 5-1-2 have most of the advanced testing and metering equipment needed for hazmat incidents (regular & WMD) as well as other hazmat “toys”. The Squads do have some equipment & techs.

Can the fire alarm office dispatch companies directly from O’Hare or do they have to call O’Hare and request them? I always wondered how that worked. Thank you in advance for any replies.
Quick comment: I give this alarm district three months, and then 5-1-1’s will greatly resemble Squad 1’s. From Ashland to the lake and north to the city limits. That would cover the north loop, the universities, and many of the hospitals.
I would not want to be at city hall, for example, and have to explain that they are waiting for a company from O’Hare field and knowing that 5-1-1 is four miles away.

@Marco, any of the companies at O’Hare can leave the airport anytime. They cover parts of the city proper near the airport.

I thought 5-1-2 wasn’t allowed to leave O’Hare grounds?
