Car burns in garage in Frankfort 7-9-12

Frankfort had a full still on box 721 yesterday (Tuesday) at 7361 Hickory Creek Dr. It was an attached garage with heavy smoke on arrival. My wife took it in and snapped a few photos.

Cindy Williams is looking for a place to stay after her minivan caught fire in the garage of the home she was renting on Hickory Creek Road.

Two die in Park Forest House Fire 7-10-12

The SouthTownStar reports that:

A 78-year-old Park Forest man and a 59-year-old Park Forest woman were killed Tuesday afternoon in a fire at their home, a firefighter said.

 Park Forest Fire Department crews responded to the fire in the first block of Ash Street, according to the firefighter, who declined to provide further details.

The people were identified as Julia Markeo, 78, and Darrell Nelson, 59, both of whom lived in the home, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

They were taken to St. James Hospital and Health Centers in Chicago Heights, where they were pronounced dead at 3:01 and 2:55 p.m., respectively, according to the medical examiner’s office.

IN 1968, CHICAGO RECEIVED ONE SEAGRAVE REAR MOUNTED AERIAL…

Carrying CFD Shop #E-173, this was a 100′ “Rear-Admiral” aerial with a 250-gallon booster tank and a 60-GPM pump. It was assigned to Truck 63 at O’Hare Airport.
