I just confirmed a few days ago that the reason for one of Lincolnwood’s three ambulances always being parked outside as of late is indeed because they are storing their new (but not in service) tower ladder in the northern bay behind the command van. This is taking up space which normally would be used for their three ambulances. Currently Lincolnwood is still using their 1989 Pierce Arrow 105 foot quint as their frontline truck company so the station as of now is crowded with two engines (frontline and reserve) two trucks (presumably temporary) , command van, and two of three ambulances. They are also keeping 2 marked fire department sedans around the back of the station as well.
As of a few years ago when Lincolnwood’s first due ambulance was out on a run, and a second request for an ambulance would come in, two men would jump off of the truck company and run on the second ambulance.
They were normally running with 4 men on the truck and 3 men on the engine however it may have changed since then.

That’s interesting I wonder if that’s the reason why when I have gone past the fire station the last few times the ambulance seemed to always be outside on the apron.

Lincolnwood already has the tower. Its been sitting in quarters behind their command van for at least two or three weeks now.
