Well, a tanker can always be a tender when needed.
# of rigs in the USA with a large water tank = hundreds if not thousands
# of aircraft that dump water or fire retardant = far less
Why should the majority of us be forced to change because FIRESCOPE (California) says so. All NIMS did is place thier monogram on that document.

With no malice intended, in the Incident Command System, the correct term is Tender. A Tanker is an airplane.

Agreed. But not all areas of the country have adopted that or made the change … many in this area feel it’s pretty safe to call for a tanker and look for it to come by road as opposed to the sky. Just saying …
