This from Steve Redick:
Took in this job Thursday. Heavy fire was venting from a frame, one-story addition on the back of the house. Exposure B was threatened for a few minutes prior to my arrival. I believe that quite a bit of opening up concealed areas was needed, probably due to the construction features of the addition. At any rate, well controlled quickly. Note that the tower ladder, first due, was utilized as an engine company and supplied all the attack lines.

That may have been a mutual aid tower ladder that I saw following Engine 35 by four minutes. They were coming from the south. My bad.

May seem like a silly question, but does Park Ridge always lead out with the tower ladder even if Engine 35 gets there first? Caught a fire on Prospect last night and Engine 35 arrived about four minutes before the tower ladder. When I got to the scene, I was surprised to see the tower ladder led out with multiple lines and the engine abandoned. Probably because the working fire was not discovered for a few minutes. At least that I hope that was the reason. Thanks in advance for any responses.

PRFD still has all the Pierce engines they originally purchased, but E35R is a reserve Pierce because of the E-one engine that was bought. They probably have some kind of plan where they only man Engine 35 certain days of the week, and when E35 is not is use, they use TL36 to serve as an engine and tower most likely for manpower reasons. Just like Rescue 36, they only man it during certain shift.

Isn’t parkridge still running without an engine at station 36? And do they still have both pierce engines or no?

Engine 35 is staffed everyday with 3. Tower 36 also with a minimum of 3 and they try 4. Both ambulances have 2. When engine 36 used to run the truck only had a driver.
