This from Art Zern:
At 0157 on 8/29/20, Sycamore FD was dispatched to a structure fire at 1542 Timberwood Court. E-1 and Chief 3 arrived with heavy fire on the second floor A-side and attached garage on the D-side of an end unit, 4-unit townhouse. We also had jumpers from the second floor balcony. Chief 3 pulled a Box on arrival. Fire on the A-side had auto exposed to the eaves and was extending into the common attic. The D-side also auto exposed to the second floor and attic. E-1 stretched a 2 ½ to the D-side and opened the deckgun on the A-side. E-1 was able to secure their own water as E-2 backed-down to E-1 from the south. Dekalb T-1 backed into E-1 from the north and set their main ladder to the roof. Searches were completed, additional lines were stretched, and exposures checked for extension. Extensive overhaul for about 1 ½ hours. All companies worked to make an excellent stop with the fire contained to the unit of origin for the most part. One firefighter and two civilians were injured. Thanks to all of our mutual aid partners.
