Guardians of the Ribbon help young girl – update

As mentioned in a previous post, the Guardians of the Ribbon, Northern Illinois Chapter, made a trip on Sunday to escort a young cancer patient to a local restaurant where a fund raiser was being held on her behalf.

Larry Shapiro went to Wauconda to photograph Lily’s arrival at Lindy’s Landing where upwards of 50 people were there to greet her.

Each piece of apparatus throughout the country used by the Guardians of the Ribbon is named in honor of a cancer patient. "Jessica" is named in honor of a young adult with cancer. The engine is covered with notes, names, and thoughts of those touched one way or another by the disease. Larry Shapiro
