Lieutenant Jim Skrabel from the Darien-Woodridge FPD submitted the following information:
We have ordered a new truck (Quint). It will be a Pierce Velocity PUC 105 FT with a 500 gallon tank. Delivery will be April/May next year.

On Thursday, June 23, 2011 as part of the 9/11 Anniversary planning, the Warriors Watch Riders have been asked to escort a 600lb., 10′ section of steel from the NY World Center Twin Towers to our local Darien/Tri-State Fire Protection District for use in a permanent memorial to the victims of 9/11.
This piece of history will be passing through Chi-Town Harley Davidson to be escorted on to Darien, IL.

Darien-Woodridge Lt. Jim Skrabel notified us that as of 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 4th, dispatch for their fire department moved to DuComm South. They are the 600-series apparatus sharing the frequency with Lisle-Woodridge and Warrenville. The frequency is 151.385.
Since 1995, Darien-Woodridge had been dispatched from a shared communication center with Pleasantview out of Pleasantview Station 1.
