This from Chi-Town Fire Photos:
Des Plaines has placed a new unit in service at Station 63. Rescue 63 is a 2021 Ford F-550 Alexis 12′ Response Rescue. Des Plaines is using this unit to run on non emergency calls, follow the ambulance instead of the squad, fire calls, and is also the jump company for their 4th ambulance. Station 63 staffs (2) on Ambulance 63, (3) on Squad 63, (2) on Rescue 63/Ambulance 64.

Good question. I value the work Kards does but we had expected it back some time ago. Last week they said last week. I don’t want to rush them. It will need to be striped and lettered similar to Squad 9 and we plan to have Suburban Accents in Rolling Meadows do that work on its return.

Chief,
When do you expect E39 to come back from The Kards from the refurb?

My experience with Alexis over the past 22 years is that they are a quality builder. We have had five rigs built by them. One on an American LaFrance chassis, two on Freightliner chassis, and two on Spartan chassis. Alexis has stood behind everything and made it right. Sometimes the issues were with the chassis and they could have point the finger but they didn’t.
Alexis is now listed on the HGAC contracts https://www.alexisfire.com/buying-cooperatives/
