Hairy I’m sure Mike C. Knows how to spell your name correctly. I think he just chooses not to because he knows it makes you mad.

Thank you all for sharing this information. I guess I’m better off being an EVT not a fireman! *wink* I learn new things everyday (unlike Hairy).

Mike C, yes, places with soda fountains have realized it’s more cost effective to store the CO2 in liquid form…more gas, less storage space…but also that poses an asphyxiation issue if there’s a leak. Re-read my previous response. Thus the CO2 alarms in these occupancies.
Mike Hellmuth, we all knew what you meant…well, maybe all of us.

I stand corrected what I meant was carbon monoxide detector calls I’ll call
this a senior moment thanks for .making that clear……..

CO2 near miss in Phoenix at a McDonalds.

I guess I can’t say I’ve heard of a response for CO2 considering CO2 is a highly effective fire suppressant. I believe it may be used in the Ansul hoods but I didn’t really think CO2 was much of a hazard unless maybe in large volumes?

Mike C, we respond to both these days… restaurants and other food service places have large amounts of CO2 for beverages, sometimes in liquid form (more gas) and have alarms to detect leaks.

Mike hellmuth
CO = Carbon Monoxide
CO2 = Carbon Dioxide
I don’t think the fire department responds to CO2 calls.

Poor timing, they could have bought rolling meadows squad since it just went on the market.

The Bourbonnais unit is a former Springfield, IL (one of two) BC vehicle.

Bourbonnais also has a unit built by Alexis similar to this one but is used as a first response /command type vehicle for CO2 calls etc that way you’re not running the engine out on these type of call……

According to their plan for this, it should be a jump company (can staff each independently) with the 4th ambulace they apparently put into service as Ambulance 64. The rescue is supposed to primary on medicals and non-emergent service calls for their still district, and as a 2nd piece to Squad 63 on special teams calls (have hazmat, tech and dive rescue equipment stored on it) and “larger incidents.”
The document with that was from May of 2021, so not sure if anything changed with it or not.

Looks like it will serve them well glad do is not buying the diesels anymore aside from fire engines ambos and big plow trucks

Nice looking rig! Will it run as a second piece to Squad 63? How will it be manned? Will the firefighters who were taken from Tower 63 be re assigned to this rig? What kind of equipment will it carry?

Looks good!
The white LED’s should be off while the vehicle is stationary.
