CFD 1st Battalion and companies responded to a “rubbish” fire on a barge at 400 W Lake St. Crews had removed the roof off the west bridgehouse earlier using torches which got the insulation in the roof burning a few hours later. E1 led out from Lake St down to the barge.

rj, what annual call? If there is an incident on the lake, 6-8-8 is there, along with at least one P.D. boat.

Several members had PFDs on under their coats but, yeah, wouldn’t help much. While not officially designated RIT, 6-8-7 divers dressed in case someone fell in. I was really hoping 6-8-8 or Eng 2 would get to flow water but they just used the line off Eng 1.

Interesting job. Nice to see the boats out for their annual call. Tough choice between PFD or PPE working that close to the drink but a PFD won’t do you any good near heat, nice to see they had divers ready in case someone went in.
