The Lockport Township Fire District would like to share some exciting news about the future site of the Training and Maintenance Facility. This 13-acre site, generously donated by the State of Illinois, is located near the Stateville Correctional Center on Division St in Crest Hill. Once complete, the facility will serve as a cutting-edge, regional Public Safety Training Facility equipped with the latest technology. It will also house an emergency vehicle maintenance facility.

 

Our goal is to ensure that Lockport firefighter/paramedics receive the best training in tactics and procedures for emergency situations such as fire, EMS, water rescue, technical rescue, auto extrication, search & rescue, and hazardous materials emergencies. This facility will greatly enhance our fire operations. We will be able to relocate all specialty team equipment to Station #6, which is in the center of the fire district which will lead to reduced response times for critical emergencies.

 

Moreover, the maintenance facility will enable us to expand our vehicle maintenance program by offering services to other emergency response departments. This will help supplement taxpayer dollars, ensuring more effective operations.

 

In addition, this property will include a 100-yard outdoor gun range designed and operated by the Lockport police department.
