I saw on the pierce website a photo under new delivies of Schaumburg e51 it has a federal q again chrome wheels both very cool but one very unique feature the hang over mirrors like Schaumburg has used for years but on on the driver’s side of rig

That’s even better Tyler! This truck has probably never seen salt! Sounds like West Dundee got a good deal even though I’m sure the brokerage firm made a ton of money off of it as well.

$585,000 doesn’t sound too bad considering this truck brand new would be around $2 million dollars or more! The price almost sounds too cheap although the previous department who had it probably didn’t pay much more for it back in 2007.

The village paid $585,000 for this truck. With min manning of 5 per shift between 2 stations and call volume of 2,000

I bet that’s a pre-DEF motor in that too. The only thing better is if they still made fire trucks that didn’t rely on so many electrical components and sensors. I’ll be glad to watch this go by as it passes my house. Smart move on the Village’s part avoiding the wait for a new one.

Did the old Pierce tower finally crap out or did West Dundee find this truck? I know the old Pierce tower was identical to Carpentersville which ultimately faced some sort of major failure due to corrosion. Looks to be low mileage. For the amount of use it’ll get, it could be a good truck for the small town of West Dundee.
