Park Forest Fire Department history

For TBT-This was the Park Forest Fire Dept.’s Engine 51, a 1970’s/1980’s GMC/FMC commercial.  And that is all I know about this rig.  Anyone with more information please fill in the blanks.   Enjoy and comment.

  This would be 1980 or later. GM started putting the double square to indicate the model and engine type. Prior to that, they used a long rectangle.

  A classic example of a once prominent fire apparatus manufacturer which built many bread and butter no frills trucks like this one.If I’m not mistaken the developer of the famous John Bean high pressure fog……..
