Car was going Southbound on Cumberland, not Oakton, as Cumberland runs north/south and Oakton runs east west. Cumberland dead ends south of Oakton. The house that got impaled by the car is on the south side of Oakton.

Jammed accelerator, or foot stuck on the accelerator, or partial stroke and could not move leg. Didn’t think to put it in neutral. It can happen. Very sad.

Not sure if this will work but copying video from e-mail my wife sent me. It was Nest not Ring as I previously stated. In the video this is looking out at Cumberland and the cars are going southbound. Cemetery is in background on other side of road so you can get you batting’s if you looked on a map.

I found the article. I have to wonder if there was a medical issue on behalf of the driver of the car given the ages. Very sad regardless.

Were the elderly people in the house or in the car?

LFD 543-I saw a ring camera video of the car go by and it was absolutely flying. I am surprised no bystanders were injured as Oakton is pretty busy street through Park Ridge. Cook County medical examiner said the deceased people are and 85 year old Niles man and a 77 year old Niles woman.

Look at the intersection on Google Maps. It’s a T, not a + intersection. My guess is that the car must have been going too fast traveling southbound on Oakton, and lost control as it tried to turn eastbound on to Cumberland.

I cannot even fathom how this could have occurred.
