Excerpts from nbcchicago.com:
Firefighters responded to 132 S. Harris Dr. in Rockdale before 4 p.m. on Friday for a fire. The building houses Polar Service Center, a commercial parts and repair and facility. More than 100 semis were on the property at the time, many of them catching fire.
When Rockdale
first responderspolice officers and firefighters arrived on scene, a portion of the building was already engulfed in flames, and they entered the building and rescued those still inside. The official cause of the fire hasn’t been determined, but authorities said a semi parked near the building caught fire and eventually the flames spread to the building.
